The Injector shorted on this 7.3 Powerstroke, after replacing the injector the vehicle ran fine for 400 miles, then a hidden situation revealed itself. The shorted injector had been drawing excessive amperage and melted the harness to the ground shielding just underneath the Turbo.... the entire injector harness is melted together just where it couldn't been seen without stripping the harness conduit. As much as we hate compound failures, Diesels seem to offer them up!!
