Teraflex High Steer Knuckle on 1995 wrangler

One way to handle steering bind on a YJ with a spring over axle lift is to use the Teraflex high steer knuckle conversion. With worn ball joings and tie rod ends, we decided now was the time for some upgrades to our 1995 Wrangler. We installed the Teraflex High Steer Knuckle with new ball joints and a modified Rugged Ridge DOM drag link and rod ends. The drag link is raised over the springs and provideds plently of clearance. The Knuckle is very similiar in design to the later model WJ Grand Cherokee Knuckle, but re uses the stockd drivers side knuckle, brakes, and hub bearings. We contemplated a WJ knuckle conversion, but decided that we didn't like the idea of having to modify and redrill hub bearings and rotors on those rare but inevitable trail repairs. The knuckle has press in tapers that can be reversed and offer various tapers for stock size or one ton size rod ends. We figured this was the time to upgrade the tired 260x shafts and ujoints. Using a Yukon 4340 One piece axle conversion kit, we upgraded to spicer 760x ujoints and 4340 moly shafts. The lower tie rod assembly will be changed over to a .250" wall DOM and one ton rod ends.
